I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

This is how I terminated the ends of the planks that met on the centerline. When attaching the planks, I applied a bead of thinned titebond glue to one mating edge with a small paintbrush the placed a dab of medium viscosity CA to each former and squeezed the planks tight and pinned them. The medium viscosity CA (gap-filling) gives you enough time to lay the plank on and pin it. If you don't dawdle :-)

The bevels are switched on alternating strips. I made some planks that were over 20 inches long for the P-47.

Here is the angle achieved for the planking. BTW, depending on how big of radius the former has, you can strip the balsa up to 3/8" wide. The piece shown is about 3/16" wide.

Gives you a cutting angle like such.

Anyway: Hot-glues a piece of 1/8" X 1/4" to the base of the balsa stripper.

Business end. Tried to get the shape of the cowl right. Suprisingly, I could find very few pics looking directly into the cowl that would help with the shaping of the cowl. Motor mount out of 1/8" lite-ply.

P-47: First coat of spackling has been smoothed off. Need to cut the holes for vents and wings. THis will be a flier (I hope). THe cowling is held on with magnets as is the access hatch.
