The only reason for cloth hinges is strength. If you don't plan to fly it, don't use them cause without all the support shown here they will flop.

Cloth hinges. The piece of cloth is glued on top of one piece and the bottom of the other.

For Doodle- use hinges. This is the method Guillows uses and it's common for all their kits. A different method is used if the control surfaces are to be functional, that is for a flying model.

Here's the completed fuselage. Iknow you can see a lot of glue globs but I don't intend to fly my models so extra weight doesn't matter.
