The Cessna 150 is the same basically as this comet zeke. It's got the tube inside the fuse as well.

I built one Tube-O-Matic, Comet Super Star ktt with the tube in it. Just one. The damn tube turned out to be half the weight of the model. After that I opened up the formers and built them without the tube, .Of course, that requires a jig to keep it straight, although I have seen some people cut holes in the formers around the tube so that they can make a few small cuts in the remaining wood between the stringers and pull the tube and center of the formers out after the fuselage is framed up. Most builders seemed to think that these kits were crap, but I found them to be good fliers (without the tube) and quite rugged. Unfortunately for Comet, these kits were not enough for the times, If they had the plastic detail bits, noses, canopies, scoops, etc,, they might have allowed Comet to compete with the newer Guillow's kits, allowing for other business problems, they might still be around. Bill,.I hope you scanned the sheet wood before you built it. Try the Zeke again, without the tube, the formers opened up, and a removable nose block. You will be amazed at the performance even with the K-Sun prop that came in the kit. In today's market a kit you have to re-engineer to get to fly is unaccptable.
