Anyone we know?
David Duckett27-Mar-15 12:51
It's a painting, found on the web:-)
bobgood27-Mar-15 12:57
I thought it was the port (left) Testicle that hung low!
Don C27-Mar-15 14:46
bobgood now you're just picking on me. Maybe the negative was reversed?
bobgood27-Mar-15 15:13
No Don! I assure you that in my Aeroplane "life before" now, the terminology was always "Port & Starboard" - I find it hard to refer to Left & Right main-planes. Left and Right refers to politicians does it not?
bobgood27-Mar-15 15:16
Hey!!! Are you saying that this a photograph? That "moggy" looks a little strange (suppose that we all would in that position!!!!)
Don C27-Mar-15 15:35
DD says it's a painting, so my idea has to be wrong. On the "port and starboard" thing, in books I get port and starboard, but in conversation it's usually left and right.
David Duckett27-Mar-15 16:50
When communicating with the aircraft that did practice bomb runs in the United States and real bomb runs in Viet Nam the terminology was always left and right. Worked for them, works for me. Course, they said aircraft not aeroplane, too. Say what you will, as long as everyone understands what the hell you're trying to say. Those of you who fly, what does ATC say to you? Come port three degrees? Doubt it.

Most definitely "left" or "right" in air traffic control parlance. Also, studies have found that the left one hangs low in right-handed men and vice-versa.
David Duckett27-Mar-15 17:19
Did anyone even see the cat?
John M Oshust27-Mar-15 22:02
I just wonder what someone's daughter may think. We know that we have daughters that build planes. Not trying to be a prude, just civil! Would she see the cat?
David Duckett28-Mar-15 06:08
It's spelled prude, not prud.
John M Oshust28-Mar-15 06:21
A typo is acceptable on VA we have all done it. Material like this does not have a place here. You must think about all who may view it!
David Duckett28-Mar-15 06:33
You are neither the arbiter of taste nor the moderator of this site and I don't remember your ever mentioning a daughter. Personally I find references to blowing heads off animals for sport to be far more objectionable.
John M Oshust28-Mar-15 06:40
Tim does she builds planes and looks at VA. I have a grand daughter who checks VA

I know we agreed i was not to speak, but this picture might be a bit over the line. And also i think everyone should know both port and left (babord in Norway). I use both terms quite often, and keep the disagreement down, we would not like to upset the cat :)
