The venerable Tyro flies again! The foam abomination is FMA's FunJet. The plane is made by Skyartec and FMA adds their Co-Pilot II system to it and sells it as a package. Since I got it for a review and didn't buy it I can still say I haven't purchased any ARF/RTF or foam planes. The red box is FMA's PowerLab 8, a 1000W, 8S, 30A multi-chemistry battery charger. I've been helping beta test it which has been a lot of fun but taken up a lot of my time in the evenings.

He he!you don,t know what you missing out on foamies are though and rugged. That plane should keep gainning speed in level flight being a pusher prop and little drag on the air frame.Had something like it it would get faster and faster in level flight but it stalled bad and I crash on landings.Really like this one.

Well I sure can't make it fly worth a hill of beans. Seems to lack thrust, but it is drawing 80W out of the battery and the plane only weighs 19.25oz. so it should be enough.

Wow this babby has a infeard flight stabalizing system!Amazing it can tell the difence btewen the ground and the sky by tempture readings talking about whisels and bells.Plus it has 3D MODE and can be set up for wind condition up to 20 mile winds. You have to program it for what your needs are.

This is a fully arobatic combat plane with ONE SECOUND recovery time with the stick in netural postion it will level off in flight but don,t try it make sure you up high and its programed to do that I been looking for a price can,t find it.This is the extream

Yes, the idea is the computer helps you keep in control while you learn the ropes. The problem with that is this morning was dark and gray so the IR sensors couldn't do their job. Though having the computer help keep me level still doesn't help with not having enough thrust to start climbing.

OK then your not getting suficient power to the the engine that could be bad pack or speed control or simply not a good charge.I guess it could be the motor seems unlikely! The prop looks to small.SMell the plane any kind off eletric burnt smell your speed control is bad learn this the hard way

You know what?Thats a big company they build there on products inhouse company you could box it up and send it back to them telling them the problem asking them to fix it or send a new one.

It's not the battery as I also tried a new TP Pro Lite. The speed controller was acting strangely enough that I am suspicious of it (eg. sometimes the motor would turn very slowly). For now I'll just wait for FMA to get back to me, it's not like I've even got $1 into this plane so far unless you count the epoxy I've used to replace all the hot glue used by the manufacturer that broke loose.

If you think its the speed control more than likley it is they fry easly!all it takes is to much volage from a hotter pack or simply a short some how causing revers polarity

Here is the reply that I got from FMA support "Try this the next time your are out. Set the elevator trims to almost full up. Make sure the motor reaches full power before you toss it. It normally takes a few seconds to spool up to full power. I had some lawn dart launches until I added the up elevator." So I guess I'll just have to try again, maybe when the sun it out so the IR sensors work.
