It is early. It was caused by lightning which is odd because there have been no storms. Today it's mainly in a canyon which is much too dangerous to try to put out. |

Seems like it's early for fire season. August and September are usually it for us in NW Montana. Spooky stuff!. |

Wow! I used to live in Fire country in NorCal, and my nephew lost everything in the Paradise fire a couple of years ago. Please be safe! |

The Big Horn fire burning in the Catalinas at night, about 15 miles from my front porch. It's been burning for about two weeks. |

This is the HMS Surprise as it appeared in the movie Master and Commander. It was built in 1970 in Nova Scotia as a near exact replica of the original HMS Rose used in the Revolutionary War. It was sold to the movie company in 2001 and extensively modified for the movie. This photo was taken in 2013. The ferry on the right has beautiful stained glass windows and an impressive collection of model ships. The young Russian tourists encountered on the old Russian sub were obviously strangers to deodorant. |

If it's in San Diego, then the "B-24's" name is "Morning Star." At least that is what is was last time I was there about 35 years ago. Beautiful ship. Offers tours for a fee of course. San Diego is a beautiful city on the Pacific Coast near the Mexican border of California. |

It has guns and nose art, but other than that it really doesn't look like a 24. :) Interesting collection of ships. Where was this? |
