It was sheer coincidence that I checked Flightradar24 and saw this 787 headed my way.

A long rebuilding progress almost complete. I believe this is in the Boeing Wichita, KS. plant. I have pics of this plane as it was at China Lake gunnery range.

It's the "stained glass" thing on the Superphoto app. All you do is touch it and watch what it does. I could easily waste all day playing with it. :-)

That's weird. 5 minutes ago, I was looking thru and cleaning up archived mail, and found the original mails where that guy asked me to build it for him, and a copy of the mail where I sent him to you...

Woah, that's crazy. And sad.

Those of you who have been on this site for awhile will remember this model and the story of its fate after leaving here. Check this build thread if you are unfamiliar with the history. The man who got the model paid promptly but never responded again. Never said "Thank you, F--- you" or anything else. I got a call this morning from a man who worked in the same bank telling me that the man was extremely pleased with the model and that the packing was excellent. In fact, he said they were just talking about it last week and the guy mentioned that he really needed to call me and say his thanks. I told the man that was strange in that he had never said squat and he said the guy was a bit "odd". The guy who called, Gary Hall, said the guy was killed this past weekend when his snowmobile ran into a tree in northern Minnesota where he had a cabin and he was calling to inform me. I really don't know what to say. The model will probably wind up with the Commemorative Air Force in St. Paul.

Thanks, Don. These days with A380s many more people are becoming aware of just how large a plane can be. On a base, the flightline still pretty much comes to a stop when a C-5 takes off.

Thanks. The Pima Air Museum is a superb aircraft museum and I'm sure you will enjoy it. One of the things one notices right away is how much the sun fades the aircraft outside giving them a true weathered look.

Hard to believe the size of this thing. Saw one fly over me once back in the 50's. Only other time I was just awestruck by pure size was about 1970 at Fort Hood when a C5-A flew over on takeoff. Good pic.

Saw one of these great 230 feet wingspan birds last Fall in the National Air Force Museum, Dayton, Ohio.

Thanks David, With yours and Poppy's help I found I had the gear doors on the wrong struts. I will take care of that. Great pic, The Pima Museum is on my bucket list.

This one has four jet engines, the red things to the right of the U.S.. There used to be a lady on here who had worked on these. "Six turning, four burning", she said.:-)

Just read an article on the Convair B-36. Great range, engines tended to overheat and a huge payload. Some had 4 jet engines for an extra push. Not many left.
