Heavy duty metal LG, like the mail plane versions of a DH-4. Off to post a packet to DD! |

Mail palanes had beefed up metal LG, moved forward to the nose. This mail plane now has it also. |

These wheels are destined for the "Magic Box" Williams Bros. wheels are on the way. Slightly larger diameter with balloon tires. |

The louvers on top and sides of the nose set the DH-4 apart. Making real louvers on a small model, close together is a real pain. All louvers top and sides are pieces of floral wire glued on then painted. When viewed, especially from a distance, they give the louvered look. |

LG next. The LG on mail planes was beefed up. Larger wheels and ballon tires. The whole structure was made heavy duty and it was moved forward to avoid nose over landings. |

John, i've been away from VA for like three weeks holiday and i missed the finishing of the Schnitzel, the beginning and unfortunate end of the catalina, but just in time to see you start on the DH4.... the pace you build is hard to keep up with !!! And this one again looks beautiful! |
