They really do look like the Thanksgiving pictures. This guy hung around courting a hen in the yard for an our or so. For DD who's never seen a real one.

Don, that's some awfully nice work. I've been doing some foam building and it will NEVER look as sweet as wood.

Thanks. Hope summer is going well.

Very nice. The wing sheets worked so well.

The Panther looks great - nifty cardboard box jig idea to hold the plane!

Looks really good Don!

Cockpit's going to be interesting.

3 coats dope. Ready for silkspan, then horizontal stabilizer
Don C, Image # 3873302 Jun 17 21:38

They'll look better streamlined

RGood- thanks. It's going to be Navy with a red/orange on the rear of the fuselage and the rudder. Colors are from the Minneapolis Naval Air Station in the mid 50's. Tried to upload a picture a few times, but it doesn't seem to work.

Lovely job, What colour scheme are you doing Don?
Don C, Comment for image # 3870830 May 17 12:10
Thanks, gentlemen. Been planning on "gear down". It's way too heavy to fly.
heywooood, Comment for image # 3870829 May 17 22:49
It looks just right - are you putting gear down? or will it be ' in flight' ?

Quite the "pastoral" mountain meadow you have there Don! Looks like you have "Broad-Tailed" hummingbirds (4 1/4" long) - very similar to our Eastern "Ruby Throated" hummingbirds (3 3/4" long), but separate ranges. When you say they were "going at it", that is true - they are very hostile and aggressive and quick an eager to quarrel and fight when they claim ownership of a patch of blossoms, or sugar water feeder, and defend it from other hummingbirds, even when not actively feeding. Great action pic!

The infilling and nose block came out very nice, Don.

Well done!
Don C, Image # 3870829 May 17 10:42

Haven't screwed anything up too badly so far. This just might work out.
Don C, Image # 3870729 May 17 10:39

Nose job with wings.
