Thanks and I appreciate the suggestions. Neither plans had the wing tanks, so I'm working from drawings and pictures. They started out pretty good, but weren't at the proper angle, so... I think once they are attached it won't be too tough. The cockpit and canopy will be another story. |

The jet looks Beautiful!
Those inlets look like a challenge. Again such a key focal point and signature feature of the F9F..have you any 1/8" square balsa and some round toothpicks or fine wood dowel? I would build them out with balsa and attach the dowel as the leading edges of the inlets - then putty and sand to shape. I know you didn't ask for suggestions and I apologize in advance if I crossed a line. I'm sure whatever you decide to do, you'll make it work.

Silkspan, 4 coats of dope sanded with 200. Starting to look like an airplane. |

Started shaping the wing tanks. Round is an overrated concept. |

Thanks, Ray. Got the wings silkspanned today and started the wing tanks. As you know, each step can bring up a new challange. |

They really do look like the Thanksgiving pictures. This guy hung around courting a hen in the yard for an our or so. For DD who's never seen a real one. |

Don, that's some awfully nice work. I've been doing some foam building and it will NEVER look as sweet as wood. |

The Panther looks great - nifty cardboard box jig idea to hold the plane! |
