I think this is older than I am. How old is this?

Just thought I'd say hello to everyone here since I've been busy with Army, work and personal stuff. Hope you're all doing well and keep up the great builds! Shot this of one of my unit's birds performing a maintenance test flight early one morning.

All of us ex-GI's know how good it feels to finish basic training and it is a big accomplishment. Well Done! Work hard, stay safe and you will go far in the service. I thank you, and our country thanks you for your service. Good Luck!

Hey all...just wanted to say hello from Ft. Eustis, VA. This is the first chance I've had to stop by the site in awhile. Made it through Army basic training, now Im learning to repair these big beautifully-ugly birds! Cant wait to get back to the balsa though. I think checking up on the site here will help take the edge off until I get home. You guys have been up to some AWESOME builds as usual...keep up the good work!

Sounds like a normal day in my garage... uh.... What fumes?
Luke War, Comment for image # 1641218 Feb 10 20:34
Just for the record, doping this thing sucks. I just spent the last 2.5 hours coating roughly half a football field's length in stringers if they were laid out end to end, all while inhaling as many toxic fumes as could possibly come out of a bottle SIG dope. Hehe, sorry, just had to vent and I knew ya'll would understand. Anyone else would just give me a funny look then call the police saying I was admitting to doing drugs! :P

Your willingness to go, we all appreciate young fellow! We salute you! Hummmm... Ft Benning is where they teach you how to jump out of a perfectly good airplane... Are you going to jump out of a perfectly good airplane? My little brother did that there in Georgia, at Clark Army Airfield, 660 times... Then he got some sense, and came on home...

Actually I'll be at Fort Benning, Georgia for about 10 weeks, which is still going to be a MAJOR YUK! After that though I'll be going to Fort Eustis, Virginia, but I'll be learning how to maintain and repair CH-47s so that'll be a bit more bearable. Don't thank me gentlemen, I haven't done anything yet, THANK YOU for your services!

Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina, for basic training in May? Yuk! I started 11 weeks of basic at Lackalnd AFB, San Antonio, Texas, in July 1959 after spending a month in Denver. Holy S...!!! And when that was finished I was stationed there for another 7 months before being assigned to Torrejon AB, Madrid, Spain, another warm spot. I echo Mr. Miller's comments 100% and render a proper military hand salute!
