I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Top view of the old setup. Not quite finished at this stage, the top cross bar on the wing aileron cutout was not installed.

Old aileron setup. I took these just before converting to a different method. The torque rod (wire) I used was not heavy enough gauge, and they were a bit sloppy.

Just applied the Krylon Acrylic Crystal Clear coating. Those wrinkles should go away!

Mark, Moostang. Still going. I put some clear Krylon over the tissue yesterday. I'm working on the top wing ailerons right now, will post some pics later. I'm not really sure on the best motor, I'm using a LensRC CDROM motor (17T). I'll let you know how it goes. If anything, it'll be overpowered. The GWS IPS should be plenty too, and they're cheap. Check out www.bphobbies.com.

James, you done yet or what? If so, how did she handle when in the air? T'is a beauty.

Mark99, I think the GWS IPS motor is probably the right size for this model. You might even be able to get away with the GWS LPS. I used a LensRC CD-ROM motor, mounted on an IPS mount.

Wheels look great! This is going to be a real acrobatic flyer.

Cowling is now painted silver.

Thanks Moostang! When I took it outside, the tissue seemed to lose some of the tightness, because of the humidity I expect. I was thinking that I wouldn't bother sealing with the Krylon Acrylic, since it was extra weight, but maybe I should. Will that sealer stop the sagging you think? I wonder how much weight it will add. Currently at 4.9oz, and I really wanted to be below 5oz.

Isn't that scale handling? Maybe you should find a smoother runway, this one's all full of holes and a slight bump could cause a dip in the pool. Did these ever have floats? It's beautiful!

Tremendous work here and framed inside a great backgroung. Sounds like you'll need a lot of right rudder on take-off.
jgood, Image # 354108 Jul 07 19:10

From my taxi tests, it seems like the ground handling is going to be a bit squirly. The relatively narrow gear, and the big prop and small rudder are factors I guess. Have to go easy on the throttle for take off.

A quick trip to the pool for some pics. Just the top wing to cover now.
jgood, Image # 353808 Jul 07 19:07

Wheels now have covers. They are just paper disks over the GWS spoked wheels.

Okay, I forgot the need of lightness. But I knew a scale look would be obtained in some manner. The Baron would be proud of you.

Thanks chaps. Doodle, not sure how yet, but I want to. I guess I need to extend the servo wires to do so. Poppy, the wheels are GWS ultra light wheels. They don't look that good at the moment, but are much much lighter than the Guillow ones, which is the main thing. I plan on making paper centers for them to help improve the look.

Super job!! Wheels look strange. Purchased or hand made?
