Impressive work James. |

Looks great from this angle. Are you going to hide the wires leading to the top wing? |

Lower wing and undercarriage now on. The uncovered wings are just mocked up. The cowl is held on with tiny magnets. First taxi trials have already taken place - she moves! |

Undercarriage. I'm using GWS 2 inch lightweight wheels. I will cut out paper discs to hide the funky spokes. Small wire axles have been epoxied onto each side. |

Fuselage now covered, ready to attach the lower wing. |

It's roughly 50/50 I think. It wasn't really an exact science - I put some glue in a glass, then dripped some tap water into it. I don't think it matters too much - the water is only going to evaporate anyway. |

Diluted or full strenght? |

Gonna be a real beauty. With your flying skills, no problem. |

Looks like nylon string? Is it just tied on that dowel or is there a drop of CA on there also? I love it how you make these little model airplanes fly under your control. It almost makes me want to convert one of these Guillows models to RC…… Na, to complicated. I’ll leave it to the expert :) |

Thank you for saying that David, but I don't really think so! :)
Thanks John!
Yes, I'm looking forwards to seeing it too Moostang, I'm just hoping it's first landing is a controlled one! |

T'is going to be a thing of beauty. Admired the Baron since my early teens, reading anything I could about him. His DR-1 was a fascinating aircraft and his skills such as attacking from high above with the sun behind him to blind enemy pilots were revolutionary. I am looking forward to see this aircraft in the air. Wonderful build, James. |

You're in the hands of a Master Modeler here, folks! |

Covering coming along. |
jgood, Image # 3514 | 07 Jul 07 11:15 |
Covering the fuselage underneath the tail plane. White glue was applied to the frame, then the tissue was layed on, and more white glue brushed over the tissue. It should dry nice and taught. |

Showing where the cables exit the fuselage. This will all be covered over, the small outlets will be left open. |

Moostang, the AUW is 4.7oz at the moment, that's everything except the remaining stringers and covering. I'm happy with that. I've mocked up the aircraft (held together with tape), and it balances at the point on the plans, maybe slightly nose heavy. My question now, is what to do with wing and tail plane incidence... |

Looking good. What's the weight up to with the motor ,sc,servos and battery. Once the three wings are attached, how do you locate the cg for balancing? Very interesting. |

Elevator and rudder now hooked up and working! |

Rudder and elevator servos now mounted, with the thread for the pull-pull controls. |
