Ahhh, but the memories of seeing it actually fly, priceless!

A little skittish. I'm hoping I can get things a little more stable than it was. If not, I think she'll turn into a display piece!

Fly really good, or a bit skittish?
Xanadu, Comment for image # 369426 Jul 07 10:41
Excellent, looks fantastic!

There's a short video of the flight here.

Excellent, John! I hope you like it. I found it lost direction a bit once he goes to China, but the WW1 stuff is really good.

James, I just ordered the book you mentioned....thanks for the direction.

Great picture! A storm on the western front.

Especially the old Shorthorn, eh? I learnt about them in 'Sagittarius Rising', great book. Have you read that?

Ah, someone who knows WWI aircraft. The Baron would have shot them while still on the ground or should I say drawing board.
jgood, Comment for image # 369524 Jul 07 17:51
Pity I forgot to include the Baron's Spandaus. I didn't want him taking pot shots at any passing Maurice Farman Shorthorns, or Morane Saulnier Parasols.

Great shot and great build James! You can almost envision the WWI battlefront.
jgood, Comment for image # 369524 Jul 07 17:45
I think the total flight time was about 2 1/2 minutes. Not long, it probably would have almost done that with rubber power! That was about all my shaking hands could manage though. It seemed like hours, and an instant, that it was in the air!

Hear.....moostang....hear.

I could almost here Richthofen cocking the hammers on his dual spandaus. The picture is breathtaking. How long was the flight?

This is an very, very, fine photo of your accomplishment!

Photoshopped to enhance the colours. Returning back home to Jasta 11.

Thanks for your kind words James :-) Ah yes, But I didn't have to worry about making moveable control surfaces or installing a motor, servos, etc etc. Besides, yours is definitely the best and most realistic flying Triplane I've seen. So far all of my models have been for display only, although I'm currently working on one I DO intend to fly - free flight and rubber powered only though, nothing as complex as this!
