Amazing dedication and great work. And yes, it is fun.

Another day or so to get the cabane struts placed and aligned.

Biplane Guy, I 've been down the slope for decades (Used to be a plastic modeler). Example here ( a week of my life that I'll never get back) is of the rigging clevises for my Loening. Each clevis took 9 separate operations and three jigs to make. But it's FUN!!!

Indeed.

Rayl, looks gorgeous. Those rivets will really make the model pop out. Glad you checked out the other sources for rivets. It pays to do a bit of research. Really happy you chose the "O Hust" sized rivets. Rivets that may pass for exact scale or closer to it, may come off as being too heavy or big. Subtlety is the key here. This is especially so for aircraft. It's like weathering. It can easily be overdone.

I checked out the Archer's Transfers site; I think that MicroMark is the better bang for your buck. Both rivet sets will portray the older style protruding rivets used prior to WW II also for most light aircraft. Flush riveting and Duz fasteners have a flat profile that, as far as I can find, are only available for larger scales such as 1/6 and larger. Just sayin'.

Yes, this looks awesome. Archertransfers.com also makes decal rivets. They may have done the original sets. They have them in various sizes as well. Can't wait to try this technique.

Thanks guys. I was beginning to doubt my sanity about half-way through!

Wondrous!

Looks like it is worth the effort.

Boy, I am glad that the wings don't have any rivets! Used up 1 1/2 sheets of the Micromark rivets to get to this point. I thnik that it will take about another 30 inches of rivets to finish up.

Know what you mean. Got a few projects all going at the same time on the S.E. 5.... Yet, the model progresses so slow.

Sky; I used the "Oshust" scale rivets. Yes, I've been fabricating the interior out of styrene when I get disgusted with other facets of the project.

Rayl, the riveting detailing looks outstanding!! What size rivets you choose to use? Just curious. From the background, it looks as though you've fabricated some seats. Neat!! Really impressive.

I have been riveted to the main float today.

Very cool. Look better than the pounce wheel method I used on my Piper Cub.
