I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Don C. if you mean the dog I have not named him...Still not certain my granddaughter will allow me to put him in the backseat. I suppose we could call him 'Auger' or 'Cavu'

Huey - thanks for the clarification on the windscreen...plate glass? not even tempered? No wonder bird strikes were always fatal.

Looking very nice. Who is Nigel's friend?

I had the same problem, aspirin bottle, I'll keep that in mind. Good job on the model, looking good.

HW, what you are calling supports are actually structural tubes that are part of the fuselage. It's easier to make glass panels that are flat. A molded wind screen is more costly to manufacture. The glass sets on the tubing with a rubber seal. An aluminum frame fits around the perimeter and is attached with #10 screws to brackets. It's 1/4" plate glass not plexiglass too.

Nigel Caruthers is the PIC...on one of the other boards an observer came up with that name and a bit of a back story so - there's Nigel in the pilot seat..

I have added the windscreen supports. The SR10 does not have the widows peak windshield that the SR-5 through 8 have. I was going to make changes to this one and model the -8 but changed my mind. There are a number of alterations to the forward fuselage, cowling, and wing that would have had to be made and I got to the point where I just decided to do the -10.

these are the Guillows floats I had from a previous kit that I decided to put wheels on instead. They are a tad undersized for this larger scale Stinson so I am going to do a little surgery on them once the infill is complete..I plan to add a one inch thick balsa block at the step and then skin the top and sides with 1/32" thick birch ply

so - the cowling. The kit provided formed cowling was just a bit too small in dia. to work with the engine I had decided to work with so I modified things a bit. In this image you can see the cowling I used mounted over the sleeve of plastic sheeting provided with the kit that you are required to cut and fashion into a ring and mount to the forward fuselage. The engine fits neatly into the ring sleeve and then my cowling just fits over the sleeve...my cowling is cut from the bottom of an aspirin bottle that I emptied trying to figure out how to make this work...
