I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Now for the real sanding and filling and shaping ...
LASTWOODSMAN, Image # 3851109 May 17 10:57

The painted grain lines begin to magically appear while sanding.

It is 3/16" wide across the flat, and tapers down to a point - very handy!

That is a half-round "Jeweller's File" above the T-square - the best $20 I ever spent on any tool ...

5 more hours work - all sanding blocks were renewed with fresh sandpaper stapled on, the face outlines have been sanded to 320 grit, and the layout lines on the sides of the prop have been added. Now to carve (sand in) the actual contours of the shapes and see how the painted grain lines will look.

Laminated prop is underway - the one piece prototype practise prop is behind for comparison.

The Russians were the first into Berlin in WW2, and confiscated much Nazi Archival film footage, showing the big marches and Hitler's fascination with Runes and history. This is the famous Russian documentary of 2006 with English closed caption words, which covers many facets of WW2 and even Admiral Richard E Byrd's naval mission to destroy the Nazi bases in Antarctica, named "Operation Highjump". Beware: this is for the curious intellectual historian, and not for the squeamish or faint of heart. 44 minutes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwUpPwyyvLw

Gentlemen, the post WW2 stigmatization of the "Swastika" is a compelling subject. It and other "Runes" have been around for millenia since the Neolithic Age. It is a Sanskrit good luck symbol used in many cultures. There is a small town in Northern Ontario near Kirkland Lake called Swastika, founded in 1908 and named for the Swastika Gold Mine which started in 1907 (which started the big gold rush in the area by the way), and this town has not had to change its name. Lots about the Swastika in this Russian documentary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwUpPwyyvLw

Never a dinner with all the trimmings - ate a couple of beaver sandwiches on the trapline once - nothing great - quite stringy actually.

LW, You have never flown a Beaver but have you had one for dinner? I know trappers not only coveted beavers for their fur but found them a great tasting source of protein!

Prototype practice Axial prop for 200 hp BMW engine is finished and sanded to 320 grit. I hope to duplicate this on my good laminated prop block.

Prop front is on correctly this shot - it seems to balance on a round head pin ... counting the sanding strokes must have paid off ...
LASTWOODSMAN, Image # 3847104 May 17 15:48

Seeing how it looks on the plane - Whoops - I put the prop on backwards.
LASTWOODSMAN, Image # 3847004 May 17 15:46

Rear side of prop - all surfaces have now been sanded to approximate shape.

Top View after a couple of hours more sanding today.
