Major parts ready. Waiting for 1/32 balsa sheet to skin the wings. No LHS. Tried 1/64 birch plywood - too stiff, but it did work nicely for the back of the cockpit.

Poppy, I'm trying your method: sandable primer and filler. Needed to blacken the interior.

Lots of extra stringers

We got a max blockage here in Detroit/Windsor of 83% of that bright sun in clear skies. It still seemed to be just as bright though, as any other day with just 17% of the sun still shining through. It didn't seem to get darker at all.

I was disappointed in the eclipse where I was. it just got dark looking, tinted for a little bit.

thanks don, I guess it did.

I managed an aircraft related photo during the eclipse. Lasted about 20 or 30 seconds

Looks like a DC-7, but that's all I know. My neighbor back then flew lead plane for him.

I'm assuming that that is what goes into that rectangular hold at the bottom of the fuse.

The "B" also had 4-bladed propeller whereas the "A" had a 3 blader... Ahem, just an FYI.

I've done the Comet 18 inch P-51 and a dozen of the P-40s (over a Period of 60 years) and the nice thing about them is that they fly.

Uncle Benz: both 1:24 scale versions are ready to mail. Brian: When you look at the plans, they have to be either the A-36 or P51-A. The B had an air intake just under the nose and spinner.

Uncle Benz: Check your e-mail. Enjoy!!
