My favorite part of the build.

Don C - I really admire all you "scratch builders" that infill plank and cut out and form all of your own parts - nice "Schnozz" on that Panther.

Ready for rhinoplasty.

Maybe 12 hours of infilling. I think I'll sheet the wings. DD, yes it's the Comet plan enlarged to 1/24. Also have the Cleveland plans for reference. One problem with enlarging is the lines also get enlarged. Takes a little adjusting, but interesting. Ray, these were stationed at the NAS Minneapolis in the 50's. No Brubaker.

you could get yourself into something by making a duct.

One of my favorite planes. Are the scenes from "Bridges at Toko-Ri" flashing as you build?

Looking very nice! Is it a Comet plan?

Thanks, Brian. Realized yesterday that I don't have to make a prop for this one.

Gonna take some sanding. Even wet and warped a few to fit the curves. Slow.

looks good don!

Ready for infill.

1/24th scale, 19" wingspan. Been sitting like this for a week -rain stopped. Thinking that I should have used DD's method of having 2 full center pieces to glue together. This is a bit flimsy. Will have to be careful to avoid warping the fuselage.

April showers provided time to get started.

RAdm. George Tarrant: Where do we get such men? They leave this ship and they do their job. Then they must find this speck lost somewhere on the sea. When the find it they have to land on it's pitching deck. Where do we get such men? Man on loudspeaker: Launch jets!
