Those are two fine looking models. Really impressive.

Thank you Brian - I love the Century series of USAF jets and this one was the first.

lol - I'm all out of hangar space. I'm going to have to find them a suitable home one of these days.

Thanks Poppy - looking at these images the finish actually seems to come close to an all metal effect. She's photogenic anyway. The paints used were Tamiya Gloss Aluminium and Testors Buffing Stainless Steel which when dry can be buffed or polished to a high shine. I used that on the rear fuselage and leading edge slats. This was my first Dave Diels kit and a good experience overall.

A well done Hun!

Those came from Dave Duckett - The mains are resin and the twin nose wheels are vacuform. There were two slightly different diameter hubs that I fused together to replicate the heavy brake drums of the NAA Saber. He had sent over a bag of wheels when I told him I was having a hard time finding suitable ones for the F16. Fact is that's where the kit itself came from. My good friend and inspiration, David Duckett.

Nice. Really like your wheels.

it was a key feature on the production F100 so here it is - the early, straight refueling probe. This airplane had so many rolling upgrades and safety corrections made to it during its service life that they could just have referred to them as F100-ABCD's and then the F(amily) wagon - some of the examples in country had parts from all four variants on them it seems

I wish you the best with it, Don meantime I went ahead and fabricated and installed a refueling probe..

Thanks. I think it's going to be tough on the F9f too. I was going to make the flat bulletproof windscreen, but now I'm not sure if it will take the abuse. I bought 2, so there's a little room for error.

Funny - I have thought more than once about the fate of model kits - Lol Why this one was collected and never built, that one purchased and later just tossed or given away, another built into a tremendous show piece. And so on.

I have promised my five year old granddaughter that I will build her the plane of her choice - and paint it pink. She chose the Grumman Widgeon from Dumas. She gave me a few of her dollhouse people to put inside as passengers lol It'll be fun

Lonely kits just languishing on shelves, hoping and praying, to be put at the top of a loving modeler's list, who will then tenderly assemble the incomplete, broken lives of their laser-cut parts, into a WORK OF ART with a SOUL !!! By the way - what is your next build ?
LASTWOODSMAN, Comment for image # 3894727 Jun 17 11:08
And thanks for explaining your rant. LOL There are MANY more models out there waiting for you to build them ...
