After about four tries at trying to get the bent lams into the correct place, (upper right of picture), I had a"Duh" moment and realised that it would be better to set the bows on the canopy base plate, then sand them to fit the canaopy. That worked much better. I filled in the aft canopy fairing with Duram's water putty as I will need to drill some holes in it for some sort of fittings that are evident on the pictures of that area. |

Coke bottle canopy and 1/32" Bass laminated over forms that were lifted off of the canopy master. I used soft Plumbers solder to duplicate the the cross-sections to transfer to my bending forms. Soaked the Bass in warm water for about 10 minutes, clamped them to the forms then popped them into the oven at 180 deg. F for about 20 minutes to dry out the bass. Worked great. |
