The construction of the Baboon was initiated this day. We wish to take advantage of the multitude of laser cut balsa and plywood disks that are supplied in this short kit. This is a bare bones kit without instructions. Baboon fabrication should reawaken that part of my noodle programmed for problem solving, specifically the area dedicated to model fabrication. I was drawn to this particular kit because of the seven cylinder radial engine. The kit engine does not mimic the real Baboon power plant. I find the design of the kit engine aesthetically pleasing and as such, we will not construct an engine that attempts to duplicate the "real thing!" After finally understanding the order of disk stacking, Gumby and I dry assembled two cylinders this day. Two down, five more to go! |

Just about completed. Added an automatic boiler feed valve today. My Princess wanted it as she was afraid of filling the boiler when I am in the hills |
