I laminated two 1/32" inch Balsa sheets "Crossgrain" to make a more rigid fuselage formers. The forward three formers have a silk layer laminated in between. The silk was doped to the wood first, then, as with the Balsa only laminate, I used "Stix-It" heat activated adesive to join. This worked very well. I used our houshold iron to bond them together.

There was a separate hall for FF and they had a building area for the kids to assemble some rubber power models and fly them. Jimmy and Katarina had a blast. We spent about 2 1/2 hours in there! Katarina won two 1sts in mass launches and Jimmy one 2nd place (due to aircraft breakage right before the call for a "Mass Launch"). Here's a vid of Katarina flying with about 500 winds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aSlEEizu_I And here's Jimmy with about 250 to 300 winds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=661VMtUYZTU

Original was solid balsa with birch ply sheeting! It had "Flapperons as well as drooping leading edge to change the chamber for slow flight. Advanced for it's day.

1920. Can't not build this. I'm goning to have to squeeze this in between two aerobatic rc gliders I have to put together. One for my friend and one for myself. He said he'd buy me the kit if i'd build his for him. Couldn't pass that one up!

After a little regrouping, the wing rebuild commences. I had scanned all the laser cut parts before I began the build which turned out very helpful. As was my preference to use little individual building boards. All the shims are still intact. This will be the second time to rebuild wings on this model. Should go fast. Third times' the charm! ;D.
