Xmas greetings from New Zealand and best wishes to all those North of the equator. The slowest Thomas Morse build in history lurches quietly towards completion.

Haven't got a Stuke you say, well make your own young man. Not a bad recreation and it's full size ! I had no idea the Stuka was so big, no wonder it became Spitfire bait during the Battle of Britain.

Because Hurricanes are topical I took this shot today of the one outside our local air museum in Omaka, New Zealand. This example is in fact one of the wooden full size replicas created for the 1968 Battle of Britain movie. It was imported several years ago and fully refurbished and is now very difficult to pick as a giant kitset model rather than the real thing. Cool eh !

Nearly ready for primer, silkspan covered, engine covers formed from brass sheet and wings will now be mounted as per the actual aircraft with three tubular spars entering the fuselage.

noticed the lower wing position on this Guillows kit bears no actual relationship to the real aircraft so have had to try and lower it somewhat for an accurate display model. Curse myself for double checking the reference photo's as it creates yet another problem to solve. This model will never be finished !!!
