pfinn | Dumas Kit #220, Westland Lysander | Build | 04-Feb-10 15:11 | | Views : 2618 | Installed. Apperantly thr Lysander wanted a radio compartment hatch. It will be located forward of the canopy. Thid section of the fuse sort of removed itself during handling. he he ;o0. |
pfinn | Dumas Kit #220, Westland Lysander | Build | 04-Feb-10 15:06 | | Views : 1744 | Mounted the radio "Brick" (reciever,2 servos.Esc). The stock motor mount's (white) four posts (well I kinda broke one off, doh!) squeeze tightly into the four silicon inserts (Handy Dandy fuel line... again). Why? Your guess is as good as mine! Maybe to keep the gear buzz from resonating through the model like a speaker. ;o). Machined in 2 degrees right thrust and 1.5 down. Will be swinging a big Prop (relatively speaking). |
pfinn | Dumas Kit #220, Westland Lysander | Build | 31-Jan-10 20:50 | | Views : 1068 | Slowly but surely... Basic 1/16" square balsa Stab but added very lightweight 1/32" caps and sanded to airfoil (max thickness at 25-30% to .020" (about) at trailing edge. Offset hinge line. If this "Lead Sled" is going to fly, it's going to need all the help it can get! |
pfinn | Dumas Kit #220, Westland Lysander | Build | 26-Jan-10 20:09 | | Views : 751 | Back to the Lysander. Chunky beginnings of the tailgroup. The elevator (er?) is split, hence more of the wire bend-a-roo's. Actual hinges this time... |

pfinn | Scratch Built Twinster | Reference | 20-Jan-10 09:45 | | Views : 1244 | Just loosen the clamping lever at the base, and a cable that runs through the ball and tube assy. loosens and it's like a wet noodle. Can hold it high, low, wherever. Really saves on the neck and back pain. |
pfinn | Scratch Built Twinster | Reference | 20-Jan-10 09:41 | | Views : 1285 | Hey JohnG, this is what i meant by adding a couple more clips. I got rid of the base and mounted to an articulating indicator stand for positional freedom. |
