Excuse the lack of clarity of the pic. It was taken thru a window late in the afternoon of the backyard. On the powerlines and fence are about 75 doves, mostly whitewing. Between the fence and the powerline pole is the neighbors swimming pool. Apparently, the Doves us it as a watering hole during these hot summer days. We've been having succissive days with heat index of over 110. A long hot summer here in TX:o(

Even with the damaged nose and the balance clay held in place with tape, the Cub was capable of flight.

One year, my sister was in the mode of homemade birthday presents, so she asked me what I would like. I loaned her the color pic of N15011 and a Christmas card with a Cherokee picture on it and she came up with this painting, one of my most cherished birthday gifts over the years.

N150ll bundled up to return home from its last flight. It sat in a storage hanger for a few months until our boss sold it for salvage. One day, while visiting the remains, we decided to borrow a gas cap and the ID placard which survive today as a memento of some very happy days over a third of a century ago.

Later in 1975 on a rental flight a customer was a bit careless in his fuel management and set N15011 down in a pine thicket just short of the runway. He and his family walked away from the landing with minor injuries.

On Feb 7 1975, we made our first long cross country flight in N15011. A three legged trip from Pineville, Louisiana to Eldorado, Arkansas then to Longview, Texas and returning to Pineville. The picture was taken at Elcorado. Our last flight in N5011 was April 19, 1975, after having logged 48 hours in the craft.
