First step was getting the horizontal lines. Then placement fore to aft. Once I had the front of the piece marked, it was held on the line and the pins marked and drilled. It helps in the glueing process. All you have to do is align one axis instead of three.

Starting work on this end too. Question: My research on the Blue Angels and this aircraft show a lighter, brighter blue than the usual Navy blue. Am I corrrect?

Some work left on the fuse before attaching wings and tail feathers: open tailpipe, cockpit and somehow sant the inside of the intakes smooth. Haven't figured that one out yet.

TAil feathers: vertical 4 plys of 1/16th, horizontal 3 plies. Didn't warp. :)

Wings: ramework and right covered with 1/64 birch plywood. Good stuff, but hard to sand.
