Finally got some paint on it and the decals. Making the sharkmouth from the 1/24th plastic kit fit on the Diels kit was a real chore and took some repainting. It may not be perfect, but it's better than I could paint.

Uncovered weight is just under 56 grams due to many techniques Don Ross uses to add strength (such as the webbing in the wing). A little sanding and then time to cover.

All "Fluff", no "Stuff" half an engine no wires and pipes. Made progress sheeting 4 more sections. I got side tracked with the engine idea...now I am off schedule!

The 13 in. flight prop needs to be shaped but I think this will work well....remember the Rat cowl has a ventilator front.

With props mounted, my frisbee color wheel will get me to a proper color for rusted exhaust ports. Got to finish soon, my son is breaking my _____ to start the Hellcat. If not tomorrow, one more weekend with a little mid week matinees in between.
