Top of the gun base. The flat part is where the loaders stand. The real platform has a lip that I duplicated with some stiff paper.

Bottom of the base that the gun ultimately sits on. 1/8" wood dowels. I notched the pieces to better fit together.

I replaced the hinge parts. Originally they were diecut cardboard, but I was afraid they would disintegrate after a while. I cut them out of basswood. You can see an old piece on the round part of the frame.

Anybody remember Lepage's Cement? Before my time. I only remember them making school glue with a funny rubber tip. The card is from Polk's Hobbys in New York. This kit was sent as a gift to a serviceman during WW2
