JG...the elevator is hinged now. Here is what is used. Used these on the past two aeroplanes. I have enough in stock to complete Ogre but must restock before next winter. Tower Hobbies is from whence they came.

I dislike wing fabrication but can do work like this or rigging happily all the live long day!

The best part of this day, is to watch the cockpit’s joystick move “to and fro”, when I lift the elevator up and down.

When I choose an aeroplane to model I try to find something unique to that aeroplane’s design.

With “Ogre” there were a number of unique components that peaked our interest. I was drawn to the unique engine, Gumby to the strange tailskid. Without the benefit of actual close up photos the Gumster and I have been pondering the tail skid fabrication for quite a while.

Today we got down to business and Ogre has a skid to support his empennage.

With the painting process still underway, we work toward the framing of the air foils, AKA, wings.

We shall slow our pace, construct the center wing section over the cabane struts, fabricate a Lewis gun or two, mount them, add a bit of detailing to the fuselage, then address the wing issue.

If we are lucky it will be spring and the wings can , “wait in the wings”, until next winter!!

Spent the day appreciating the annoyance of a cracked/lose crown. Gumby and I started dickering with the painting. Not having the painting skill of a Mr. Duckett, Gumby and I try to fill this void in our building technique with enthusiasm. We needed some new painting supplies and quickly gave our closest Michael’s $60.00 American for three tubes of Liquitex paint and two new brushes. The under wing color we concocted is spot on when compared to our color graphics After placing a drop of our secret blend onto the graphic, and waiting for it to dry, the spot is imperceptible. Which may or not be the case, but to my eyes it is. The RAF fuselage color is not an olive green, not a burnt umber, nor a pink. Depending upon what drawing you reference, the color is chameleon like, depending on artist and printer.
