I left the silk unpainted because I prefer the "Open" look. I used only enough Dope to fill in the Silk to save weight. I may someday add some subtle graphics. I haven't flown it yet because, truthfully, I'm afraid I'll become too dizzy. Crunchy Crunchy Balsa Bits Time!

It was suggested on the plans to lighten the rear of the aircraft by creating open structure on the stabilizer and rear half of the fuselage. So I did! Hanging while the Dope dries.

I decided to try using Dope and Silk to cover this one.

Selecting which engine. .049 or .074. I opted for the .074 because of the lower rpm and the ability to swing a larger diameter propeller. I wanted to slow the aircraft down yet create enough thrust to be able to go vertical and keep the lines tight. Plus...the dizziness factor!!

This is not the Geef 250. This is a Brodak Pathfinder CL kit. I've contacted James a couple of times, but alas, the model requests have not yet appeared. Absolutely no problem with me though. Thought I'd post these. A resurrection project. I started this way back when and got this far. I had spent two years care-giving my Dad before my Germany move. During which I built a Cabin/Workshop/Man-cave on the property for the both of us. After a few other projects, I decided to finish this. I had almost finished the wing.

The entire length of the fuselage interior will have to be shaped and reinforced. this is just the beginning. I just started "German" school (5 days a week till next May YUCK!) so this may take a while. ;o(

The wing saddle area has been hollowed to accept the "Monkey Motion" unit and reinforced with Carbon Fiber cloth. I was able to use some of my old Spoke shaves for the fuselage decapitating!e

Removed the upper section of the fuselage that will be replaced by formers and stringers. Forward of the trailing edge will be a hatch.

Still semi-rough on the parting line.

1/64" ply laminate on the outside for reinforcement (I need room inside for the "Monkey Motion Unit". To "Lighten" up the look of the Fuselage I believe I will combine the sheeted/solid lower half of the fuselage with a upper "Former and Longeron" upper half. The Orange tape line delineates the separation line. I sculpted the shape I want in the solid-ish wood to get a good idea of what I want. The Vertical fin will be built in during the assembly. Still big questions on that though! I won't bore you with that...for now. Ha Ha Ha!
