The linkage works similar to the original. The control rods attach the ailerons to a toggle crank below the floor in the cockpit. Now if I lift one aileron the opposite side goes down. The pictures in the reference book have the tail elevated as in flight. This changes the angle of attack of the wings. and their apparent alignment to each other.
