Reference pic from my buddy Bob at the Historic Hangar Mosquito Restoration - looks like two rings that are hinged in the rear, and fitted with side mounts to move the top ring up and down.

Test fitting of the sitting pilot and sitting gunner/observer. Still trying to figure out how to attach the gun to the support ring ... ? Maybe a standing gunner with arms to the handle of the machine gun and a longer - legged support ring ... ?
