LASTWOODSMAN | SIG Cabinaire | Parked | 10-Jun-17 18:55 | | Views : 290 | I put 4 small thin strips of green masking tape from the nose block, over the shim, and onto the forward fuse to hold it all together, as the nose block is slip fit, and it and the shim keep falling out, on or just before, landing, because the rubber motor is actually 3 inches longer than the fuse nose at rest. |

LASTWOODSMAN | SIG Cabinaire | Parked | 10-Jun-17 18:51 | | Views : 291 | Also, the stab has a small 1/16" tiny square block of balsa glued to the underside at the rear where it sits on the fuse (as per plan), to give a positive incidence (decalage?), to the stab, (the rear of the stab is higher than the front of the stab), to help the plane climb - it is also helpful to launch the plane on an upward angle. |
LASTWOODSMAN | SIG Cabinaire | Parked | 10-Jun-17 18:46 | | Views : 298 | I had to build in some left thrust, in addition to the downthrust, on the thin balsa shim plate, between the noseblock and foreward fuse former. The left thrust from the shim plate seems to counteract the right turn from the rudder and the prop torque, giving a straight flight during initial power burst, after which the prop slows down, (and eventually stops), giving a nice right turn later in the fllight from the rudder offset. |
LASTWOODSMAN | SIG Cabinaire | Parked | 10-Jun-17 18:41 | | Views : 287 | Wound up 450 turns and ready to go. This Sig 22" "Cabinaire" is all "trimmed out", with no tabs on the wings, stab, or rudder. The rudder has been glued with the slightest offset for a right turn. |
