The plans are printed on one side so they can be cut apart for ease of building. However I still made a copy to cut apart. Dies kits are designed to fly with oversized tail surfaces however the plans contained dotted lines showing the scale surfaces which I am building to.

I obtained some references off of the web, I particularly like the three blues scheme.

The kit has excellent plans containing instructions for building both the LA-5FN and the LA-7. The print wood must be cut out and is good quality, however the strip stock is much too light for me to work with so I substitued som Guillows strip wood. A vac canopy, rubber and plastic prop are provided. Decals seem to be well done.

The Diels kit of the Lavochkin fighter can be built as either an LA-5FN or a later LA-7. I'm building an LA-5FN.

The 1/24th Techmod decal sheet #24011 allowed me to finish my Bf109G-2 as a machine flown by Oblt Herman Graf of 9./JG 52 at Pitomik, Russia, Sept 1942 when he scored his 150th kill.

The hardest part of finishing was the heavy motle of dark green on the sides of the fuselage and the fin and rudder.

To get a flat finish I've found that it takes a second coat of Dullcoat.

With the Klear sprayed overall the decals were added and a coat of Testors Dullcoat was sprayed overall.

Next is a coat of Dullcoat so the decals will adhere to the surfaces.
