For reference I'll use this 1/48 scale kit by Tamiya. I think a plastic kit is perfect for getting a model to look correct as many kits are not scale. That's especially important in this case because the Cleveland plans were drawn during the war so accuracy isn't guaranteed.

A closer look. They are having a 30% off sale so the plans and shipping were $34.20. The wingspan is 27 and 15/16" and the length is 23 and 1/2". Plans are available in smaller and larger versions.
