The structure was largely plywood with ribs and stringers added so that the fabric covering looked real. They weighed about 15 pounds. My son now is in charge of the Boeing office in South Korea building f 15s for the Saudis and Koreans. |

It is an 8 foot Spirit of St. Louis that my son and I made for a company that made displays for museums and corporate events. We built two models. This one was towed across and auditorium ceiling on a cable. At the approproiate time a spot light was shined on the model then the motor started (electric,started by RC) and the PA made motor sounds). It worked fine and its now on display in the Science Museum. We made a second on which was the center piece in buffet table for a corporate party.It was a better model since it had to be seen up close |
