I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

My little helper is now 9 months old and about 100 lbs. No work has been done on the model since the previous photo with her.

The green came out a bit darker than what I had in mind initially, but I think it'll do just fine.

A little warmth for those of you stuck in colder weather.

Covered dry with medium weight silkspan and UHU glue stick then shrunk with a mist of water. I thought about covering the cowl wet, but decided instead to go bare wood with many coats of dope to seal and smooth it.

I'm building for static so the nose gets glued together. I've also gone to solid wing tips which is what I should have done in the first place.

The SRK doesn't have a plastic cowl so a short section of it is stick and former construction with 1/32" sheting and the rest is laminated 3/32" pieces that will get sanded to shape.

The wings and fuselage were actually finished some time ago, I just finally got around to taking a photo. Hopefully I can make some more progress on it now.

The result of a few hours of casual building this evening. The Weldbond glue grabs quickly and is dry enough to handle the parts in about 15 minutes or so. The side keels are pretty neat in this SRK. In the kit you glue the two parts of each keel half into the formers one at a time, gluing them together on the fuselage. But with the SRK they are one piece of wood that has be scored about halfway through at the joint between the two parts so that it easily bends as needed. The part "D6" in the center of the horizontal stabilizer was too small and I had to take a minute or two to make a new one. It was almost like the part was drawn too small without the kerf of the laser being taken into account. Other then that, everything has had a fantastic fit.

If I am able to stick with it and complete this Storch it'll by my entry for the 2011 "G" challenge. It's an SRK from DPCM so no kits will be harmed in the building of this model. See Jerry Campbell's Storch photos if you want to see what is provided in the SRK. The quality of the wood is nice, light yet strong, and the laser cutting makes it all fall together quickly, though the sheets that the formers were in need a little extra knife work to free the parts.
