Even with the old Guillows tissue I was able to apply the tissue wet to the fuselage |

Here is a Guillows Mustang I bought on eBay that was already built and just needed covering. The build was pretty nice, looks like the builder used white glue and everything was nice and straight. I did some final sanding, no modifications and covered with kit tissue. This was an old kit since the decals were paper glue on and not the water slide on decals. I had a kit with water slide decals and used them. I applied the covering with Elmers glue and coated with 2 coats of Aerogloss dope. The final weight with rubber ready to fly is 20 grams. I still think the 900 series kits are the best WWII kits out there for beginners who don't want to build a high wing kit. These would be perfect laser cut kits. I think my next build is going to be a Guillows 300 series Cessna built out of the box with a fast and easy RC conversion that anyone could do. |
