The TE is three 1mm (.040") square basswood I found at a German Crafts store with some .012" thick Carbon strip I already had.

Decided to add leading edge sub-ribs instead of sheeting the LE with 1/64" ply. I also decided to add Diagonal cross bracing rearward of the main spar. And again, radiused gusseting. Sometimes I wonder...this is supposed to be a "Quick" build. Sheesh.

Since the airfoil is not flat bottom, small tabs lift the ribs of the building surface to keep the oriented correctly. These tabs will be removed later. Notched LE and TE really help with this kind of technique. The top spar is not bonded at this time in lieu of adding the vertical grain shear webs.

LE laminated from four 1/32" Balsa strips. Marking for Rib notches.

Only the outer side was laminated with the Carbon to facilitate a better bond with the "Shear webs" further down the line.

Carbon fiber "Tow" is laminated to the outer side of the Basswood cores. Tauten the the dry fibers on a flat nonstick surface (packing tape on the building board this time) then squeegee(?) Epoxy to "Wet Out" the fibers. Carefully pull the fibers off the surface and transfer to Basswood cores. Clamp between flat surfaces for curing.

The Spars are curved so I laminated two 1.5mm (1/16") square basswood strips. Because of the mild bend, pins were used instead of the usual forms.

After drawing up the a rough wing plan in CAD (I actually used a proven airfoil for this project!) i printed out the rib profiles and tack glued them to some sheet. I used a Balsa stripper to keep the cuts as square as possible. Using a Scalpel blade which is thinner than an Exacto made this easier.

Hello. It's been a while! I'd like to add a model to the list. "Scratchbuilt RØMØ Own design". This will be a small Slope Glider with Pivot wings that I can travel with on my journeys throughout Europe. Starting with a trip to Denmark in a couple weeks to the Island of... RØMØ. Hence the name..haha. I have moved to Germany and finally have some time to build. Yay!!
