The paper was cut along the sides bracketing the vertical support. Punched a few "lightening" holes, and painted overall flat black. I made sure to paint along the edges to avoid the white paper showing through. |

To simulate the brackets and rigging inside the cockpit, I first cut some pieces of paper that is also glossy on one side. Then matched it up with my intended cockpit wooden supports. |

I twisted the sheave to help give you an idea of the small size and groove. According to the BlueJacket catalogue, these two accessories are cast in "Britannia Metal." |

This is the size "sheave" I ordered to be used to simulate the pulley system that can be seen through the triangular inspection window (I haven't gotten that far yet). |

What we call the grooved wheel portion "pulleys," they're listed as "sheaves" in the BlueJacket catalog. I've also included turnbuckles, but they're too large for my scale. Still, for anyone working on a larger model, this is truly a cheap alternative. Special note: their turnbuckles are non-functioning. |
