here's how I ended up assembling the fuselage. The formers are all square on top and I shimmed each one to match (as best I could) the curve lengthwise. It's still a liittle beyond my abilities right now, and although it came out straight the formers got skewed in plan view (from above). Drats. |

just mocking it up as I get parts cut out. I "discovered" a method of gluing parts outlines on balsa that keeps the paper from sticking. I put clear packing tape on the back of the sheet of paper before cutting the parts out. Then use Elmer's white glue to attach the cutout outline to the balsa. The packing tape won't let the glue stick to the paper...but sticks enough to cut the part out underneath it. |

1st half of fuse started. I decided to go the "split former" route for simplicity. If it doesn't work out, all I have to do is start cutting parts and do it all over again a different way!! |
