While cleaning out my storage unit this weekend I discovered this Revell 1/48 He 111H that I built about 15 years ago. It is the most recent plastic kit I have built to date and at the time was also my best build and paint job on a model, I was very proud of it. Interestingly, since my model is from the early 90's Revell intentionally left out the swastika on the tail, a decision they reversed in 1997. All the machine guns and other fine detail is snapped off so I think I should try to find a wooden kit to replace it with rather than another plastic one. |

The wing apears to have gone askew, resulting in straight flight rather than a circle. At this point I put away the camare and began chasing it. But about 150' away a tree kindly caught it for me. I broke the wing getting it down - back to the hanger. |

Here the plane has leveled out and has swept about 180° from where I launched it. By this point I was ginning ear to ear and starting to laugh like a kid. |

Initial unpowered glides were like the BF-109, short and steep. Moving the wing forward and removing 1.5g of nose weight moved the CG back, fixing the problem. Here we see it as it begins to climb and turn into a 40' circle around me. |

Sunny, 50F, and 0-1 MPH NE winds, so I went to the park. This is my universal adapter for winding up the plane - the Canary from "Rubber Power" by Don Ross. |

The only noticable damage is to the landing gear. The wires kept them attached to the wings though. |
