David Duckett | 07-Apr-16 06:21 | I have used Pactra masking tape in 1/8" and 1/16" widths for years and it was used here except for the rear which was masked with regular Scotch transparent tape. Pactra is no longer being made so I don't know what I'll use when what I have is gone. However, type in painters tape in Amazon and you'll see there are hundreds of choices. All masking tape needs to be pressed down as close to the surface as possible before painting. I use the rounded tip of a small brush. A crochet hook works. Those things you bought to make rivets are perfect. The silver has several coats of paint and when the tape is removed there's a slight ridge. That allows it to be used as a guide when painting the red so no masking tape was used for the silver. |
