looks like it's coming together. are you going to make this f-4 different than your other one, david? maybe southeast asia camouflage?
David Duckett30-Jun-11 11:49
Yes and yes.;-)

i'm going to try to fix up my f-100 where the tissue wrinkled up and redo/finish the decals, sometime.

Jets are not easy to cover. The wings on the F-117 gave me fits! And Diels decals are just not sturdy enough for me. The decals included with this kit are great.

when i tried to put the decals on and they fell apart, they sent me new stickers and a pamplet that said to apply a clear coat of acrylic krylon over the decals. when i tried that on my tigercat it worked better and i didn't have any decals fall apart.

David Duckett30-Jun-11 20:16

It's only $34.95! The build thread is already here from the first one four years ago so don't let that stop you. ;-)

ah yes, but I want to see your cammo job... Your old one was gray. on gray... on gray... It's the cammo on F-4's that floats my boat... (BIG F4 guy here...)

There's an F-4 in camo displayed on Davis-Monthan along with the F-100 and F-105, pictures of which have already been posted in their respective builds. I'll get some shots next time I'm out there. It was about this time 45 years ago when I first saw an F-4 in camo in Viet Nam. Most of the planes were in camo and I remember thinking it was effective but not very appealing. After the Dumas F-105, I've changed my mind.
