Next build. Purchased real cheap on eBay as water damaged started older kit. Always looking for a deal. Wanted plans and plastic to build from scratch. Surprised to find everything in relatively good condition. Sometimes you win sometimes ....well lets just say I won on this one. Only missing canopy which I may order from Guillows Unless somebody here has one. Always wanted to build this one and really looking forward to it.

Ed, Such a great model! I have this in my closet, also from ebay. I'm curious about the brown plastic parts. I've never seen a Guillows kit with brown parts before. Wondering what timeframe they used that color.

Ed, the brown plastic parts are what was considered "started". A previous owner decided to work on the plastic first and painted it and all of the stringers brown. This will be my primer coat when I'm ready to paint. I may or may not use the stringers. I have plenty of stringer material from previous kits.

Ed, there's a utube video on how to mold a canopy if you don't want to buy one. It's handy if you want to scratch build. I'll find it and post the link.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMkP3cS1lVc I hope this works. I've made several canopies this way. If you can find a big enough piece of plastic from one of those hardware store packages it will work, but it has to be flat. I finally bought some from K&S sheet metal.

Forgot. It's called PETG plastic.

Thanks Don. I'll give it a try.

Okay, now I understand about the brown plastic! Makes total sense now.

reminds me I need to get back to work on mine...good luck to you on your Jug, Ed

Heywoood, I was wondering why there were no finished pics of your jug. I may try and build the motor using your build as a guide. This is one of those kits that has so much you can do. I'm going to just play it by ear and do as mush as possible depending on "whatever the mood strikes."
