Coming in for it's first ever landing...

Excellent, looks fantastic!

Fly really good, or a bit skittish?
jgood26-Jul-07 12:47
A little skittish. I'm hoping I can get things a little more stable than it was. If not, I think she'll turn into a display piece!

Ahhh, but the memories of seeing it actually fly, priceless!

She flies! James, we want all the details!

Just watched the movie Fly Boys. This looks as good as those in the film.

Wasn't the name James Good listed as one of the flight stunt consultants on "Fly Boys"? I flew u-control as a teen, go to the field with my son now to watch the modelers' club play with their toys; who knows, one day... maybe I'll be at the stick again.

I mean, you're trying to control 5 oz. of Anthony Fokker "whoopass". Patience James, a big screw for a light plane, experiment with the throws and throttle, I don't have to tell you. It's a beautiful sight in the air.

Thanks guys! I took her to the field again this morning. Got another two flights on her. I was coordinating the rudder more with the ailerons, and turns were better. On the next flight, I taped an old bottle top and a small rock onto the cowling, and that also seemed to improve handling, so I think a little more weight on the nose might be in order. Ground handling it attrocious, both flights ended with a (non damaging) nose over on the tarmac. Still - getting better!
