First prime and 400 grit rub. All imperfections revealed but plane is 90% glass finish. Rudder cracked so a little fixing is required.

Tight curved surfaces require additional stringers as you can see on fuselage. Flat and slight curves come out beautiful. Poppy, great system and I can now appreciate all the work it takes. Big airships are a possible combo cover. Glad I tried this method. Tomorrow a little more Micro-Fill and second primer coat.

Did I miss the completion of you B24 ?

No John, was waiting for Micro-Fill to be delivered so I thought I'd attempt to skin a Trojan. Ooops. Currently masking and painting the fuselage on the Lib.

Very nice indeed! Yes, it does take some time but I think you will be well pleased with the results. Super job, keep it coming.

NOT THIS PHOTO!!!!But after four applications, like Ivory soap, 99.9% pure. Found a nice photo on a site from DD, Airliners.net. Off to the finish shop tomorrow. One thing though, the smooother you get it, you still want more. Scheduling an appointment with MFA (Micro-Fill Anonymous) for Monday. Just say NO, Moostang. New photos tomorrow.

Gents I concur with the micro fill. I painted some on the basswoods of the Mig today. Fine steel wool. So smooth I hope the primer sticks!

moostang, What type of primer are you using??
moostang5118-Dec-07 17:55
This was done in Rust-o-leum light grey. Works really good, but make sure all prior prep is complete, especially all plastic being doped etc. If dope contacts this primer once applied, it will remove it, curl it etc. No, no, no....

Thanks a bunch.
