okay, so that paint is like one molecule thick, right? *G* I know how it pains you to put paint on an airplane...

Yea, I am not a big fan of painting, and this paint does not add much weight. Here something funny, I weighed the plane before paint and it was 26 grams. After paint 23 grams. Go figure.

Let me know where to get that "negative weight" paint :)

2 or 3 more coats of that paint and you'll have to tether her to the table :) Seriously, You may not be a big fan of painting but that's one great finish.

Great paint job and great model - really quite amazing that you got it to 23 g with the kit wood. I have also noticed strange weight changes in my models. At leas,t in my case, it seams to be attributable to humidity. On a humid day tissue can really soak up water, so much that some of my smaller models don't fly well.

I think when I weighed it without paint was the same day I shrank the tissue and applied dope. Two days later I painted it, so it could have been the tissue, balsa dried out and that is why it was lighter. Years ago I painted with colored dope, but I really don't have a nice set up for that in my garage. So a couple of years ago I switched to acrylics to paint my plastic models. Now I paint my freelfight with acrylics. Goes on great and does not seem to add any real weight.
