jernst | 18-Jun-07 15:38 | Covering was with "Easy-Built" olive drab tissue. I don't particularly like it because it doesn't have very good 'wet strength' |
jerry campbell | 20-Jun-07 00:34 | I've found that I like the tissue supplied in the Diels kits. At least I like it far better than the tissue supplied in the Guillows kits. While in England I bought some Japanese Tissue from Sams and found it to be excellent, pretty much the same as the Diels supplied tissue. |
jernst | 20-Jun-07 06:39 | DAve uses 'esaki' Japanese tissue in his kits. It's some of the best tissue you can get.
I just started the Diels Brewster Buffalo kit last night. Hope to have pictures soon. john |
jerry campbell | 20-Jun-07 13:12 | I watched a bit of Dive Bomber with Errol Flynn thid morning. Lots of beautiful formation flying shots of Buffalos, Vindicators, Devestators, etc, in pre-war markings. If one needs inspiration this is the film. |
jernst | 20-Jun-07 13:29 | I just posted a pict of my Diels Vindicator. I love the Dive Bombers. Next up is the Devastator. |
jerry campbell | 20-Jun-07 14:46 | How long have you been doing Diels kits. I was surprised that no Diels kits had been posted until I posted the Ta 152. I like the Guillows 400, etc kits, but the subjects are limited. And of course I'v found a few decals in 1/24th scale. I've just gotten complete P 40B/C Flying Tiger Decals that I'm looking forward to using.

jernst | 20-Jun-07 15:43 | I've been building Dave's kits for about 2 or 3 yrs now. My first was the Boeing F4B-2, which I can post picts of as soon as I get the plane added to my hanger. Did you know there is a YAHOO group for Diels kit builders? Dave Diels is a member, as well as Nate Sturman, who has done several of the Japanese designs for Dave.
