Boat-tail and strakes on the hull bottom. Still need to apply the sheer-strakes, then on to the L/G (Ugh). Be back next week.

Thank you for the insight about the underside of the Loening float. Had no idea. Great job! -Sky

Should have photographed the bottom.

??? It is the bottom of the float.

Pains me to say this Ray, but yours is bigger - and very nice. I am at the point where I need to build in the retractable wheels.

Gary, skyediamonds, said he took "lotsa photos " of the real plane but that he had "no idea" about the strakes on the bottom of the float so I said he should have photographed the bottom.Since this is a photo of the bottom that you, Ray, took, I figured you would realize the comment was directed at the person who made the other comment.

DD, had to smile at your response to my not knowing about the strakes on the bottom. The Loening wasn't the only aircraft that I was taking detailed photographs. "Only" had two full days to take as many detailed pictures as possible of as many aircraft that were on display at the US Air Force Museum. There were some interior pictures also taken of this Loening while the docent was looking the other way.... :) So it was a matter or choice of whether I had the time/chance of taking interior shots or undersides of the floats. During the rush of photography, I must admit it never really occurred to me to consider the underside in the first place. Guess can't win 'em all... Sky
